Veracruz

In 2006, Layn made his professional debut with Tiburones Rojos de Veracruz, a team from his home state.

In 2007, he made his Primera Division debut against another home club, Necaxa, at the Clausura 2007 competition. The match concluded in a 1–1 draw.
