Early Years And Professional Career Of Aleksey Serebryakov

On July 3, 1964, Aleksei Valerevich Serebryakov was born in Moscow. His mother was a doctor at the Gorky Film Studio, and his father was an aviation engineer. He attended a music school when he was younger. At the age of thirteen, Aleksey made his acting debut when his music teacher had a photo appear in the Vechernyaya Moskva newspaper. Serebryakov cited Valery Uskov and Vladimir Krasnopolsky as the casting directors for the Soviet television series Eternal Call.

After earning his degree from the Lunacharsky State Institute of Theatrical Art in 1986, Aleksey enrolled in Oleg Tabakov’s acting program and spent many years working at the Moscow Theatre-Studio Tabakerka.

Following his graduation from the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts, Serebryakov appeared in a number of movies, such as Accused of the Wedding (1986), Silent Outpost (1986), and others. He became well-known for playing a criminal fighter in the lead role of Vladimir Feoktistov’s movie Fan (1989).

The Life of Aleksei Serebryakov From 1990 to 2022

Serebryakov played the lead role in Vladimir Bortko’s 1990 movie Afghan Breakdown. Additionally, he appeared in the 1990 movie Accidental Waltz, for which he won the Best Actor prize at the Locarno Film Festival. In 1994, he played the lead role in Sergey Livnov’s play Hammer and Sickle.

He also appeared in a number of TV shows later in the decade, including Bandit Petersburg, Empire Under Attack, The White Guard, and many others. He performed there between 2009 and 2012 (Lenkom Theatre). He portrays Sergei Mamontov, a fictional character loosely based on banker Sergei Mavrodi, in the 2011 film The PyraMMMid, which is loosely based on a true story (the founder of the MMM pyramid scheme). In 2014, Serebryakov played the role of Kolya in the acclaimed drama Leviathan by Andrei Zvyagintsev. Following that, Sergei Puskepalis’ Clinch starred Serebryakov.

Aleksey Serebryakov wed Maria, whom he met while waiting tables, in the 1980s. They got hitched in the ’90s. The wife’s daughter from a previous marriage, Dasha, and Stepan and Danila, who were adopted from an orphanage, make up the family’s three children. Dancer Maria Serebryakova performs for a living. She worked in the folk dance group and was a choreographer for the theater.

Serebryakov and his family left Russia in March 2012 because they found it difficult to raise their children there due to political unrest and corruption. They made Canada their home. Aleksey’s family is now contently residing in Canada.

Aleksei Serebryakov On Afghan Breakdown

This 1991 military drama film about the Soviet-Afghan War was co-produced by Italy and the Soviet Union and was directed by Russian director Vladimir Bortko. In 1991, Afghan Breakdown was made available. In this movie, Michele Placido plays Major Bandura, a member of a group of Soviet paratroopers that also includes some well-known actors from that country.

Despite recent box office successes like The 9th Company, many critics still regard the movie as the best representation of the American Civil War.

Director Vladimir Bortko asked Mikhail Leshchinskiy (a Soviet television war reporter who spent 4.5 years in Afghanistan) to contribute to the script. Vladimir Bortko then visited Kabul and Kandahar to conduct research. In this movie, Arsyonov was portrayed by Sgt. Aleksey Serebryakov.

On the Accidental Waltz and Dead Man’s Bluff

Russian dark comedy/crime movie Dead Man’s Bluff was released in 2005. The movie is based on actual combat that took place at Elevation 3234 in Afghanistan in early 1988, during the final significant Soviet military operation (Magistral). The majority of the negative reviews were positive. Capt. Aleksey Serebryakov acted as the scout.

Transit, a film by Russian author and director Aleksandr Rogozhkin, had its world premiere at the 2006 Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

In Transit, a secret military transit facility in the far-flung Chukotka region is the setting for a story. Zvyagintsev and Negin won the award for Best Screenplay. At both the 45th International Film Festival of India and the 2014 BFI London Film Festival, the movie won best picture awards.

In 2014, it won the Asia Pacific Screen Award for Best Feature Film and the 72nd Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film. The 47th best film released since 2000, according to a 2016 survey of critics.
