Sac leg of the Continental Athletics Tour in a time of 47.84 to break Panama’s Bayano Al Kamani’s South American record. In May 2021, while competing in the Diamond League in Doha, Qatar, he once more shattered the South American record with a time of 47.57. His performance of 47.57 seconds made him the 22nd-best runner to ever compete in the race, and he finished third in the global rankings.

He achieved this by defeating Rai Benjamin and Karsten Warholm to win the title of world champion.
