This House Star Is Being Sued By Ex-Students

Regardless of their line of work, celebrities are bound to be involved in some sort of controversy, and the former reality star is no exception. He has been involved in a few cases, the most recent of which occurred in February 2016, when 164 students sued him.

Students from Texas, San Antonio, and other parts of the country filed a lawsuit against the business mogul, alleging that they “fell victim to predatory and fraudulent business practices.” The students also claimed that Armando Montelongo provided them with useless advice and ideas during his seminar.

Armando’s workshops, tours, and programs range in price from $40,000 to $50,000. They also stated that the investment had an emotional impact on them, causing depression and stress, which in one case resulted in suicide.

In an interview in 2017, Armando addressed the allegations leveled against him. He stated:

“We’ve always been very transparent about our business model, and we’ve even shown it on Undercover Boss. A number of these individuals that I’ve taught how to be successful have opened up a competitive seminar company or a competitive educational online company and — are colluding to try to bring down No. 1.”

The lawsuit was amended in April, and it was refiled in December 2016. A federal judge dismissed the students’ lawsuit against the entrepreneur in June 2018, stating that “the students failed to state a RICO claim based on fraudulent acts.”
