Amateur Career of Carlos Yulo
Yulo started working when he was seven years old. It all began when his grandfather, Rodrigo Frisco, noticed him executing somersaults on the playground.
He used to do acrobatics with his pals in the Paraiso ng Batang Maynila, a playground and park near the Manila Zoo, before then.
Yulo was also accepted into the Philippine Gymnastics Association by his granddad (GAP). Following that, the Philippine Sports Commission offered him with free training at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.
Similarly, he began participating in games in 2008 as a member of the National Capital Region’s gymnastics squad.

Professional Career
Carlos Yulo made his senior league debut in the 2018 Gymnastics World Cup series at the age of 18.
During his tenure, he was well-known for his events in Melbourne, Baku, Doha, and Cottbus. Following that, he competed in the 2018 Asian Games.
He was also spotted in Doha at the 2018 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. In the end, he was awarded the bronze medal in the floor exercise.

After pole vaulter EJ Obiena, Yulo became the second Filipino qualifier for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
He won two bronze medals as the Philippines’ flag bearer at the 2020 All-Japan Gymnastics Championships on Sunday at Takasaki Arena.
During the event, he stood behind Japanese gymnasts Hidenobu Yonekura and Keisuke Asato in the vault.
Meanwhile, in the floor exercise, he dropped farther behind Kazuki Minami and Ryosuke Doi. With a total score of 170.032 points, he placed eighth in the men’s all-around.
