Ohuruogu enrolled at University College London (UCL) after finishing high school and earned a linguistics degree there in 2005. The University of East London awarded the British 400-meter specialist with an honorary doctorate in 2009.

She then continued her education after enrolling in a two-year law program at Queen Mary University of London in 2017. Likewise, she received her second degree on July 22, 2019, at the age of 35.
