Cobie Smulders is a stunning Canadian actress best known for her role as Robin Scherbatsky in the hit television series ‘How I Met Your Mother.’ She was born in the Netherlands to a Dutch father and an English mother. Her great-aunt inspired her name. She was an avid French listener when she was in school. Smulders was born to a Dutch father and a British mother in Vancouver, British Columbia. She grew up in White Rock, British Columbia, before moving to the affluent West Point Grey neighborhood to attend Lord Byng Secondary School. She was named after her great aunt, who gave her the nickname “Cobie.” [4] Smulders calls herself a “fluent listener” of French. She is the youngest of four sisters. Smulders was also a Girl Guides of Canada member as a child, serving as a Brownie (Girl Guide program for 7- to 10-year-olds).

Smulders was cast as television reporter Robin Scherbatsky on the CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother in 2005, following the cancellation of Veritas.
