Life’s Journey

David appeared in a number of off-Broadway productions, including The Sound of Music and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Larsen finally landed a three-episode television deal with Boston Public. As a result of this exposure, he was cast as the Riff in West Side Story and Bobby in Good Vibrations on Broadway.

In October 2008, he joined Billy Elliot’s company as an ensemble member, understudying the role of Tony.

In March 2011, he took a brief break from the show to play Tunny in Broadway’s American Idiot, filling in for actor Stark Sands. He worked on the show until it ended on April 24, 2011. Larsen’s run concluded in April 2013 with the premiere of Hands on a Hardbody, a new musical, at La Jolla Playhouse. His character was Chris Alvaro, a veteran soldier.

Larsen reprised the role when the show premiered on Broadway on February 23, 2013, with previews beginning the same day. It had a total of twenty-eight shows before closing in April. Later that year, Larsen played Elder Kevin Price in The Book of Mormon’s second national tour.

David announced on Instagram that he and his girlfriend, Emilee Dupré, will marry in December 2020.

.“On December 12, 2020, Emilee and I eloped into the woods. “We came out as one with an officiant, two witnesses, and a filmmaker in tow,” he captioned a series of photos from his wedding day.

Previously, Amanda Klott and David met on the set of their first Broadway show, Good Vibrations, and were married for seven years before splitting up.

“At the same time, my seven-year marriage ended unexpectedly and abruptly. “Just six months ago, everything seemed to be falling into place, and now everything was falling apart,” she wrote. “I found myself in my thirties with no job, no husband, and no plan.”

That’s when Amanda decided to make a career out of fitness training, eventually launching her popular classes The Rope and The Dance.

Amanda and Nick married in 2017 and had a son named Elvis in June 2019.

Nick went to the ER on March 30, 2020, and was diagnosed with pneumonia; he later tested positive for COVID-19. For more than three months, Amanda documented the ups and downs of her husband’s recovery — and, eventually, his deterioration. The once-healthy Broadway actor, who performed six nights a week, died on July 5 at the age of 41.
