Childhood and Early Life
Princess Isabella was born on April 21, 2007, in Copenhagen, Denmark, at Rigshospitalet. Princess is a naturalized Dutch citizen who practices Christianity and is 15 years old as of 2022.
Similarly, her birth name is Isabella Henrietta Ingrid Margrethe, and she was born under the sign of Taurus. She currently resides in Copenhagen. Isabella is the second and elder daughter of Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary.
She is Queen Margrethe II’s fourth grandchild and the late Prince Henrik’s oldest granddaughter. She was the first Danish royal girl born since her great aunt, Queen Anne-Marie of Greece, was born in 1946. Following her father and her older brother, Prince Christian, Isabella is the third in line to the Danish throne.
Education
On August 13, 2013, Princess Isabella started school at Tranegrdsskolen in Gentofte, the same public school as her older brother. In January 2020, Isabella and her three siblings began a 12-week school stay at Lemania-Verbier International School in Verbier, Switzerland.
The siblings’ stay was eventually cut short due to the escalation of the COVID-19 situation in Denmark, and they returned home in March. Isabella will continue her education at Herlufsholm School beginning in August 2022, according to a March 2022 announcement.
Princess’s parents, however, announced in a statement on June 26, 2022, that she would not be starting Herlufsholm after all due to recurring issues of violence, bullying, and sexual abuse at the school, and she would instead begin 9th form at Ingrid Jespersens Gymnasieskole in Copenhagen in September 2022.

At noon on April 22, a 21-gun salute was fired from the Sixtus Battery at Holmen Naval Base in Copenhagen and Kronborg Castle in North Zealand to commemorate Princess Isabella’s birth.
On July 1, 2007, she was christened in the Royal Chapel of Fredensborg Palace, where her name was revealed to be Isabella Henrietta Ingrid Margrethe, after the Danish queen consort and ancestress Isabella of Austria.
Her godparents included Princess Alexia of Greece and Denmark, Nadine Johnston, Christian Buchwald, Peter Heering, and Marie Louise Skeel. Isabella received the Lutheran rite of confirmation on April 30, 2022, in the same chapel, presided over by Henrik Wigh-Poulsen.
