In June 2020, Levine will update Gov. Tom Wolf on COVID-19 interventions at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

Pennsylvania Governor-elect Tom Wolf elected Levine to be the state’s Physician General in 2015. As Physician General, Levine signed an order allowing law enforcement officers to carry naloxone, an anti-overdose drug. She claims that the medication saved the lives of almost 1,000 people who had overdosed on opioids. Until 2017, she was the Physician General of the United States.

Governor Wolf named Levine as Secretary of Health in July 2017, and the Pennsylvania State Senate unanimously approved her.
