Erykah Badu strongly denies about being asked to be in Surviving R. Kelly in a Twitter dispute with its executive producer:

Dream Hampton, the producer of Surviving R. Kelly, previously stated in an interview that she asked Badu to be one of the celebrities included in the documentary. Badu retweeted in response, “That is not the case. I’ve never worked with him, don’t know him, and was never asked to participate in the film.”

“I asked Producer T. Farris to contact @fatbellybella to be in doc because I wanted clarity on two things: 1) a comment attributed to her, “No one has done more for Black people than R. Kelly,” and 2) what she was thinking when she called him her “brother” at the Soul Train Awards,” Hampton wrote.

Then Erykah wrote, “No way, ma’am. NO ONE EVER CONTACTED ME ABOUT PARTICIPATING IN THE DOCUMENTARY. @HamptonDream You know that isn’t the case. I wasn’t a necessary part of the puzzle. You had all the right people on your team, people who were intimately familiar with the problem… But, for the time being, either fulfill this “producer’s” request or… APOLOGIZE. It’s straightforward.”

She was recently booed by fans at a concert after speaking out in support of musician R. Kelly, who has been accused of sexual abuse and running a “sex cult” with youngsters. She was booed when she said, “I’m not sure how others feel about it, but I’m saying a prayer right now for R… I love you. Without reservation “.. Following the airing of Lifetime’s Surviving R. Kelly docuseries, other victims have come forward and many celebrities have spoken out.
