Gavin is the 76th President of the New York Young Republican Club, the country’s oldest and largest Young Republican club. He was overwhelmingly elected in April 2019 and re-elected unanimously in December 2020 and December 2022.

Wax responded to his firing by tweeting that he believes he was publicly dismissed as a punishment for supporting Trump and defending himself.
