The helicopter crash sparked a brush fire about 30 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. All nine passengers on board are killed in the crash. Aside from Kobe and Gianna, there was John Altobelli, 56, the baseball coach at Orange Coast College, his wife Keri, and their daughter Alyssa.
Christina Mauser, an assistant girl basketball coach at Harbor Day School, was also killed in the accident.
