During Giorgio’s sophomore year, he competed for the placekicking spot with Vincenzo D’Amato. Giorgio converted 14 of 15 extra-point attempts and 8 of 12 field goal attempts while D’Amato handled the majority of the position.

Year of Juniors

Tavecchio handled the placekicking position during his junior year in 2010, converting 37 of 39 extra-point attempts and 11 of 16 field goal tries. Within his first three seasons, Giorgio had a field goal percentage of 68 percent, and by his final year, he had a field goal percentage of 75 percent.

Pre-draft

Giorgio was not invited to the NFL Combine before the draft. It rained throughout the California Golden Bears pro day before any drills were conducted. Also, he carried on with his drills as planned. He was unable to demonstrate his abilities, however, because every NFL scout had gone into an indoor practice facility. Giorgio went undrafted in the 2012 NFL Draft and remained unsigned. He later went to an NFL tryout for the San Francisco 49ers, where he was the only kicker available.
