John Morrison Released From WWE Contracts

On November 8, 2021, John Morrison was let go from his WWE contract as part of an eighth round of layoffs brought on by budget reductions owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. On the 26th edition of “Lucha Underground,” Mundo defeated Sexy Star to win the Lucha Underground Gift of the Gods Championship after knocking Sexy Star out with brass knuckles while the referee was distracted. Mundo successfully defended his belt against Sexy Star in a rematch on the Lucha Underground program airing on December 21 inside a steel cage. Prince Puma defeated him for the championship at “Ultima Lucha Tres.” On November 17, 2018, Mundo competed in professional wrestling and defeated Matanza Cueto in a Sacrifice to the Gods match on the last Lucha Underground show, Ultima Lucha Cuatro.
