  • On 7 January 2014, he joined Middlesbrough on loan until the end of the 2013-14 season. He made his debut for the club in a 0-0 draw against Doncaster Rovers. During that season, he made 14 appearances for the club in all the competitions.

  • On 21 July 2015, he joined Kasimpasa on a season-long loan with an option to purchase the player at the end of the spell. He made his debut for the club on 16 August 2015 in a 3-0 victory against Gaziantepspor. During his loan spell at Kasimpasa, he made 26 appearances for the club, providing 1 assist in all the competitions as although the loan deal had an option to buy, Kasimpasa decided to pass on the option due to a lack of funds, which led to him returning to Chelsea for pre-season.
  • On 31 August 2016, he signed a one-year contract extension with Chelsea until 2019, before leaving on loan again. He joined Alanyaspor on a season-long loan where he was given the number 44. He made his debut for the club on 10 September 2016 in a 0-0 draw against Genclerbirligi. On 25 February 2017, he scored his first goal for the club in their 4-1 home victory over Adanaspor. During his loan spell at Alanyaspor, he made 26 appearances for the club, scoring once in all the competitions.

  • On 25 August 2017, after signing a new three-year deal at Chelsea, he returned to Kasimpasa on a season-long loan where he made 28 appearances for the club, scoring once in all the competitions.
  • On 15 August 2018, he joined CD Leganes on a season-long loan. He made his debut for the club on 6 October 2018 in a 1-0 win against Rayo Vallecano. During his loan spell at CD Leganes, he made 31 appearances for the club in all the competitions.
