Kevin Bacon was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the United States, on July 8, 1958. Kevin Norwood Bacon is his birth name. He is an American citizen. Bacon is of White ethnicity, and his zodiac sign is Aries.

Kevin Bacon was the youngest of six children born to wealthy parents Edmund Norwood and Ruth Hilda Bacon (mother). His parents, Edmund, an architect, and Ruth, a liberal activist and elementary school teacher, were both architects.

Bacon grew up in Philadelphia, where he attended Julia R. Masterman High School with his five older brothers. After high school, he received a full scholarship to the Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Arts at Bucknell University. At a state-funded five-week arts program, he studied drama with Glory Van Scott.
