Is Catholic:

Lamar Hunt Jr. is the son of Lamar Hunt, a business magnate, and his college sweetheart, Rose Mary Hunt. In 1962, his parents divorced after six years of marriage. His father married Norma Hunt after their divorce, and his mother married businessman John Carr. His sister Sharron Hunt Munson and he visited their father on a regular basis, but they were mostly raised by his mother and stepfather John Carr.

Lamar Hunt Jr. had a strained relationship with his stepfather. Carr was an alcoholic who emotionally abused him. Nonetheless, when Carr died in 1983, he felt compelled to pray for him, and he entered a Catholic church for the first time. He liked the Catholic concept of confession, so he converted from Methodist to Catholic later that year, when his first child, Sarah Hunt, was born.

Lamar has admitted that his faith is the most important guiding force in his life. Because of his Catholic beliefs, he does a lot of charitable work. In 2020, he will donate $1 million to Saint Thomas Aquinas High School. Lamar Hunt III, Maria Hunt, Andrew Hunt, John Hunt, and Jocelyn Hunt were all students at the school.
