The gap between Brown and several backup quarterbacks during his time in Pittsburgh was quickly brought up by Pittsburgh sports media. Jones will presumably back up starting quarterback Derek Carr next season, but if he gets hurt and Jones has to go in, it may make for some entertaining viewing. Jones’ status on the squad is in jeopardy, as the team also has former Pitt quarterbacks Nate Peterman and Mike Glennon on the roster.
