After graduating from Sarah Lawrence College and the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a journalism degree, the 45-year-old began her professional career in Alaska at a radio station and KUAC TV.
She joined the Alaska Public Radio network in 2008 as a Washington Correspondent, where she stayed for four years before leaving in 2012. She continued her journey by becoming a host for C-SPAN tv’s Washington Journal. Casey’s exposure had increased significantly as a result of her work with C-SPAN.
After four years with C-SPAN, she left in 2013 to join AI Jazeera America as a Washington DC Correspondent. She stayed for almost three years before landing a job at The Washington Post in 2016.
She began her career at The Washington Post as a Facebook Live Video Host for six months before moving on to become a Video Journalist covering content on politics and accountability since 2017 and is still going strong with her effort and dedication.
