On September 1, 1961, Cantinflas had a child with a woman called Marion Roberts, who committed suicide in a hotel in Mexico City due to depression. That baby was later adopted by Cantinflas and his wife, and given the name Mario Arturo Moreno Ivanova. . Even after his death on May 15, 2017, the exact truth about Mario Ivanova’s birth is still unknown. He died of a heart attack in Mexico City.

Mario Cantinflas’ love life and affairs were kept private, but his altruism was not. Following his retirement, he became interested in charitable and humanitarian groups. He was extremely devoted about assisting children, and he gave to Catholic churches and orphanages on a regular basis.
