Atlanta Braves

In the 1996 Major League Baseball Draft, the Atlanta Braves selected DeRosa in the 7th round after college baseball. Further, on September 2, 1998, he made his MLB debut as a shortstop.

DeRosa played for the Atlanta Braves in 1998.

Despite being chosen by the Braves, DeRosa spent most of his time as a backup pitcher from 1998 to 2001. DeRosa’s field time as a reserve player increased in 2002, and they had a batting average of.297.

After Vinny Castilla’s departure, Derosa finally got the starting job after a few of years as a backup.

Unfortunately, DeRosa’s performance was unsatisfactory, as he admitted. As a result, he was relegated to the role of backup.

St Louis Cardinals

DeRosa was also traded to the St. Louis Cardinals on June 27, 2009, in exchange for Chris Perez and Jess Todd.

However, due to a wrist injury, the former Cleveland third baseman was placed on the disabled list.

DeRosa also had to have surgery on October 26 to repair a ruptured tendon sheath. Furthermore, DeRosa declined the Cardinals’ offer of a salary negotiation in 2010 and left the team.

San Francisco Giants

Following his release from the Cardinals, DeRosa signed a two-year contract with the San Francisco Giants on December 29, 2009. However, he was unable to perform at his best at the start of the season due to numbness in his left hand.

Furthermore, when the wounded athlete went for a medical test on May 11, 2010, he discovered that his previous wrist surgery had been a complete failure.
