Marshall Faulk

Marshall Faulk is a former American football running back who spent twelve seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He also worked as an analyst for the NFL Network until December 2017. He began playing when he was in elementary school. His professional career began after he was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts.

Early Childhood and Education

Marshall Faulk was born Marshall William Faulk in New Orleans, Louisiana on February 26, 1973. Faulk was born under the sign of Pisces. Cecile Faulk and Roosevelt Faulk are his parents. He went to Carver High School in New Orleans’ Ninth Ward and played football there.

Faulk used to sell popcorn at New Orleans Saints games in the Louisiana Superdome as a kid. On the basis of an athletic scholarship, he attended San Diego State University.

Career in College

Faulk attended Sandiego State University and was a running back for the Aztecs. On September 14, 1991, he faced off against the University of the Pacific. In the game, he rushed for 386 yards and seven touchdowns, breaking the freshman record. His performance resulted in one of the best freshman seasons in NCAA history. During his college career, the match was one of his most memorable performances.

Faulk finished second in the Heisman Trophy voting in 1992, after being defeated by Gino Torretta. Later, he led his team to a mediocre 5-5-1 record, which helped them become one of the notable players on the nation’s best team. In 1993, he was third in yardage and second in scoring after completing 47 passes for 640 yards and three touchdowns for a total of 1530 yards and 21 touchdowns.

Career

Marshall Faulk was regarded as ‘’one of the four players in the draft who rank far above the others,” alongside Dan Wilkinson, Heath Shuler, and Trent Dilfer. Faulk’s professional football career began when the Indianapolis Colts selected him in the second round of the 1994 NFL Draft.

After a number of games with the team, Faulk became one of the NFL’s first players to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award as well as the Pro Bowl’s Most Valuable Player Award. He rushed for 1,078 yards and 14 touchdowns. He missed some games the following year due to a toe injury.

Faulk was traded to the St. Louis Rams in 1999. He joined Marcus Allen and Tiki Barber as the only NFL players with 10,000 rushing yards and 5000 receiving yards. After a fantastic six years with the team, he decided to leave in 2005.

In 2007, Faulk announced his retirement from football. The team retired his jersey number the following year as well. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2011 after finishing first in receiving yards with 6875.

In addition, Faulk has joined NFL Total Access as an NFL Network analyst. He then appeared on Thursday Night Football’s pregame show as well as NFL Sunday’s GameDay Morning. In 2017, he and two other ex-players, Ike Taylor and Heath Evans, were suspended from the network following a sexual harassment allegation.

Personal Existence

Marshall Faulk is currently single, but he did have children from a previous marriage. In 2006, Faulk married Lindsey Stoudt at the Ritz-Carlton in Orlando, Florida. The couple had a daughter, whom he referred to as his “little nugget.”

The couple divorced in 2014 after nearly 8 years of marriage due to irreconcilable differences.

Faulk was married to four different women and had six children. He has three daughters from his previous relationship with Helena Dunne. Helena received a home in St. Louise as a gift from him. Helena filed a domestic violence lawsuit against him in 2003. However, the court rejected the lawsuit and sided with Faulk after Dunne abused the legal system.

Faulk was also married to Derek Fisher’s ex-wife, Candace Fisher, and they had a son named Marshall Faulk Jr. After their child was born, he gave her a BMW. He has kept information about one of his girlfriends private.

In addition, Marshall Faulk was suspended from the NFL Network after a wardrobe stylist, Jami Cantor, accused him of sexual misconduct.
