Career and Professional Life

Mel Giedroyc began her career in 1996 as the lead in the comic series French and Saunders. She later appeared in the films The Games and Blessed.

She rose to prominence after collaborating with comedian and actress Sue Perkins. They both attended the University of Cambridge and were members of the Footlights comedy group. From 1997 to 1998, Giedroyc co-hosted Channel 4’s Light Lunch with Perkins. They appeared on the show Late Lunch in 1998. They joined ITV’s Richard Hammond’s 5 O’Clock Show as co-presenters in 2006.
Giedroyc has also hosted a number of popular TV shows, including Draw It!, Collectoholics on BBC Two, and Vertigo Road Trip on BBC One. She co-hosted the BBC Radio 2 Saturday morning program with Lee Mack in 2014.
