MGK began performing in local locations before making an appearance at Harlem’s Apollo Theater. MTV2’s Sucker Free Freestyle included him as well. The following year, he dropped his second mixtape, 100 Words and Running. MGK was gaining popularity at the moment, but he was still struggling financially. His father kicked him out of the family home, so he became a father and worked at Chipotle to make ends meet.

When MGK released the track “Alice in Wonderland,” he took a huge step forward.
