He bought various amplifier and speaker combinations, including the SWR SM-900 amp and the Goliath 410′′ enclosure. Eden WT-800 amplifiers, a Meyer Sound CP-10 parametric EQ, and a speaker system (two 750P 218 cabinets and two UPA-1Ps with 12′′ low-frequency and 3′′ compression drivers) were employed.

He employed Source Audio Bass Distortion Pro, Eventide Eclipse, Eventide Space, MXR graphic EQ, Boss graphic EQ, Electro Harmonix Super Ego, Audio Bass Envelope Filter Pro, and speaker system: one 750P 218 and one 750 PL 2 x 18, two UPA-1P forward in December 2012. For his 2014 Spring Tour, he bought unique moiré instruments for himself and guitarist Scott Murawski. The guitar and bass are empty, as they were custom-made for the trip by Ben Lewry of Visionary Instruments in Oakland, California. It is illuminated by LEDs and has moiré panels extended over the front.

Gordon teamed with Leo Kottke, an acoustic guitarist, to make the Clone album. Gordon performed at the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Tennessee in June 2005, as well as a New Year’s Eves series in Florida and the northeastern United States.
