The first episode of the American series premiered on CBS on May 31, 2000. It is hosted by TV icon Jeff Probst, who is also an executive producer, as well as Mark Burnett and Parsons, the original inventor.

Sean is the first contestant from the state of New York. Sean is most known for designing the Superpole 2000, a colossal fishing pole. Richard Hatch’s innovation became unsuccessful as he was proven to be a skilled fisherman, duping Sean in the process.

Sean became increasingly well-known for his alphabet voting method, in which he voted in alphabetical order based on the names of the contestants. He then claimed that he did not vote out members of the opposition Pagong tribe since their names were alphabetically earlier than his tribe’s.
