Shania Twain is ‘unashamed’ of showing off naked body in her late 50s

As she gets older, Shania Twain claims that flaunting her “new figure” has been “liberating.”

The 57-year-old was open about how removing her top for the “Waking Up Dreaming” cover helped her overcome long-standing body image concerns.

“I’m speaking the truth here,” According to Twain, anything is “fashionable” if it is worn with “confidence.” “I’m comfortable in my own skin, and this is how I am conveying that confidence,” she said in an interview with People on Wednesday.

“I don’t need to conceal myself behind my clothes since I am a woman in my late 50s. I am at a loss for words when it comes to how fantastic nude shooting felt. As a woman who is well into menopause, I was simply so confident in my new figure. I don’t even feel anything; I just feel alright about it.

Twain posed for the cover image while wearing a cowboy hat and a pair of vibrant pointy-toe boots, concealing her naked chest with her arms.

The country-pop icon is no stranger to forging her own path in the music business, despite the fact that the image upset some fans.

The singer recalled her choice to forego wearing a bra in the 1993 music video for “What Made You Say That,” saying, “From the very beginning — the very first video — I was dumping the bra.”

Twain has already used her talents to push the boundaries of country music. She barricaded her midriff and removed her bra for her debut music video, “What Made You Say That,” from 1993.

Twain, who still struggles with body image issues like most people, says, “I was abandoning the bra from the very beginning – from the very first video.” “However, I was much firmer back then, so as I grew older, I began to experience a different pressure that said, “Well, your breasts aren’t as full as they used to.” Your skin is looser than it was previously. Perhaps you ought to start concealing it a bit more.”

Twain made the daring decision to act when those ideas began to seep in.

“I reached a brick wall and realized that my confidence was diminishing. My bravery is waning. Why do I permit this? Hurt that. I’m not going backward. As I should have done from childhood through adolescence, from my taut 20s and 30s self to my menopausal body, I am accepting my body as it changes. I won’t hold back about it. I want to approach it courageously, and I want to convey that boldness to the piece of art I am directing.”

Twain battled with her appearance as a youngster and recently told The Sunday Times that she would try to flatten her breasts to prevent Jerry, her stepdad, from mistreating her.

“As a teenager, I never went to the beach in a bathing suit because I was far too self-conscious. I felt ashamed because of my father. To not be completely covered up or to wear shorts was almost improper. All of a sudden, as my body developed and I entered my adolescence, I started to develop true curves. I mean, I have a curvy body. I have boobs, and when I walk, they bounce.

When that started to happen, I began to restrain myself by donning two bras, wearing extremely tight spandex under my large sweaters, and dressing like a boy. I didn’t like how I was feeling like a woman. I felt ashamed of it. And i was concealing my flaws. I was dismissing it “she claims.

Twain, Shania Twain is added by MARTIN SCHOELLER: ” “was naturally rejecting the person I was becoming. How despicable is that? And not because of me; rather, because of that strain. It was awful.”

I’m feeling more at ease in my own skin than I’ve ever felt, Twain claims.

She also wants to encourage future generations of women to love their bodies.

“I’m interested in other older women or any women. You shouldn’t feel the need to hide behind your fear or your self-conscious shield, even if you’re 12 and growing “Twain argues. But you must act in accordance with your own sense of what is morally just, beneficial, and secure for you.
