He didn’t have any formal writing training at the time. Sid penned his first column for the Minneapolis Daily Times on September 11, 1945, and continues to work for the Minneapolis Star Tribune today.

Sid became the acting general manager of the Minneapolis Lakers after two years, at the age of 27. He was a part of the NBA’s first dynasty.

In terms of his health, Sid Hartman, a 96-year-old iconic Minneapolis Star Tribune journalist, injured his hip in a fall on ice in 2016 and had surgery. He was in the hospital for several weeks and had to start therapy.

Sid got stranded in an elevator for around 80 minutes in March 2019, a few days before his 99th birthday, when he was leaving the Star Tribune’s downtown Minneapolis headquarters.

Due to a number of incidents and his age, many people are unsure if he is still alive and conduct research on the subject of his death.

Barbara Balfour, Sid Hartman’s wife, whom he married in 1964. The couple’s divorce was formalized in 1972, following eight years of marriage.

There were times in their marriage when they were separated. They’ve been apart for decades.

From a previous marriage, his wife has a daughter named Chris. Sid still considers Chris to be his daughter, and her children, Justin and Kally, to be his grandchildren, despite the fact that he never formally adopted her.

From his marriage to Barbara, Sid has a son named Chad Hartman. Chad was given joint custody of the couple after their divorce, but Chris was not. Things in the household became a little more complicated as a result of this.
