Early Life,Family and short Biography

‘Ice-T’ Tracy Lauren Marrow was born on February 16, 1958, in Newark, New Jersey, USA. His zodiac sign is Aquarius, and he is an American citizen. He is a rapper, musician, actor, and writer who rose to prominence after the release of his debut album “Rhyme Pays” on July 28, 1987.

Ice-T was reared as an only child by his father Solomon, a mechanic at the Rapistan Conveyor Company, and his mother Alice, a homemaker, in Newark and then Summit, New Jersey. When he was seven years old, he was confronted with racism for the first time, but his mother consoled him by telling him that people are foolish and that he shouldn’t worry about it — she died of a heart attack when he was nine. His father purchased him a bicycle when he was 13, but it was stolen, so Ice-T stole bicycle components and made his own three odd-looking bicycles. Around the same time, his father died of a heart attack, and Ice-T was transferred to live with his aunt, her husband, and their son Earl, who was a huge rock music lover, and sharing a room with Earl piqued Ice-interest T’s in heavy metal music.

Ice-T began his education at Palms Junior High before transferring to Crenshaw High School due to racism. Ice-T had a lot of friends who drank, used drugs, and smoked cigarettes, but he never did. Instead, he preferred to read works by Robert ‘Iceberg Slim’ Beck, which he would repeat to his friends, earning him the nickname ‘Ice-T’. His singing career began when he established the band The Precious Few of Crenshaw High School with Thomas Barnes, Lapekas Mayfield, and Ronald Robinson while still in high school. Ice-T started selling marijuana and stolen car stereos when he was 17 years old, but the money wasn’t enough for him and his pregnant fiancée, so he joined the US Army in 1977.

He served for around two years in the 25th Infantry Division, and it was at this time that he grew interested in hip hop music. Ice-T was discharged from the army in December 1979 and began robbing banks before deciding to pursue a career in music. He worked as a DJ at parties before meeting Willie Strong, who worked for Saturn Records at the time. Ice-T was quickly signed to Saturn, and his debut single “Cold Wind Madness” was released in 1983. He published a new album – “Power” – in 1988 under the Rhyme Syndicate label, which he formed, after his debut album got a lot of notice with its songs being played in different bars throughout Los Angeles.

His third album, “The Iceberg/Freedom of Speech… Just Watch What You Say,” was released in 1989, and his fourth, “O.G. Original Gangster,” was released in 1991. Ice-T formed the band Body Count the same year, but after the release of his song “Cop Killer,” Time Warner Music refused to release his next album “Home Invasion” – the album was eventually released under Priority Records in 1993, reaching #9 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and #14 on the Billboard 200 Chart. In 1996 and 1999, he published the albums “VI – Return of the Real” and “The Seventh Deadly Sin,” respectively.

Ice-T released his rap album “Gangsta Rap” on October 31, 2006, and his first song in over a decade, “Feds In My Review,” was released in July 2019. Ice-T began his acting career in 1983 with a role in the documentary film “Breakin’ n’ Enterin’,” and went on to have minor roles in films such as “Breakin'” and “Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo.” He rose to prominence after co-starring in the action crime film “Ricochet” with Denzel Washington as gang leader Odessa, as well as playing King James in the neo-noir crime thriller film “Trespass” and the action thriller film “Surviving the Game.”

He earned an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 1996 for his role in the police drama “New York Undercover” – he won the same award in 2002 for his role in the series “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.” He has also contributed his voice to Madd Dogg in the video game “Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas,” Agent Cain in the action game “Sanity: Aiken’s Artifact,” and Aaron Griffin in the video game “Gears of War 3.” There’s also the Ice-T character from the animated comedy series “Rick and Morty” in the episode “Get Schwifty,” which was really voiced by Dan Harmon, the show’s creator.
