Who is Max Helm?

Many individuals questioned Max Helm’s social fraternity after Helm sexually assaulted a youngster. It was later discovered that the Fiji fraternity adhered to a number of odd and dubious values. The fraternity was similarly exposed as racist. One of their regulations required all fraternity members to swear allegiance to the “no Mexican” principle.

In addition, there is a lengthy history of mistreatment and abuse of women inside the fraternity. These details emerged following Max Helm’s savage rape of a 17-year-old woman on the grounds of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in August 2021.

Protest Against Fiji 2021

Soon after the sad tragedy, a large number of people urged that the Fiji fraternity be disbanded, including a number of university students. Furthermore, a petition opposing the dysfunctional and racist fraternity had more than 280K signatures.

In the past, the University of Nebraska at Lincoln had broken a number of rules, and it was already on probation. Also, the fraternity was expelled in 2017 for engaging in “reckless alcohol use, hazing, and inappropriate sexually based behavior” for a period of three years.

The fraternity would be disbanding in October 2021, according to Chancellor Ronnie Green’s declaration following the campus rape of a minor by Max Helm, a member of Fiji. The Phi Gamma Delta fraternity previously stated:

“As the investigation continues, we are prepared to take immediate, appropriate action to ensure the safety and security of all who are part of or visit Phi Gamma Delta.”

In a statement, Chancellor Ronnie Green said,

“We are closing the fraternity house and suspending operations for the Fiji chapter while this investigation is ongoing due to potential probation violations. This is the responsible action to take for everyone involved.”

It was revealed in February 2022 that Fiji had sued Andrea Barefield, director of student conduct and community standards, and chancellor Ronnie Green. The Phi Gamma Delta fraternity filed a lawsuit on February 18, 2022, in U.S. District Court, naming Green and Barefield as the two defendants.

Chancellor Green and Director Barefield allegedly violated the Fiji members’ “constitutional right to freedom of speech, freedom of association, and the right to procedural due process” based on their remarks, inquiries, and actions against the Fiji Plaintiffs, according to the lawsuit.

Rape And Sexual Assault

A 17-year-old girl was raped by Max Helm, a member of the Fiji fraternity, on August 24, 2021, the first week of fall courses. Helm and the young person both went to a party at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She was a first-year student at the institution. She was left bleeding and exposed on the university grass after Helm savagely assaulted her.

A group of irate students subsequently approached the frat party to protest the incident when someone reported the sexual assault. Afterwards, it was discovered that after raping the 17-year-old, Helm beat her up and threw her outside. She was found unconscious on the ground, and a woman hurriedly transported her to the hospital emergency department.

Regrettably, in order to preserve the victim’s privacy, they withheld her name. The crowd of protesters grew significantly as the woman fought for her life in the hospital. The rapist, Max Helm, and other Fiji fraternity members were laughing and taking pictures of the demonstration. The incident quickly acquired popularity online.

Social media users called for Max Helm to be held accountable for his conduct and shared recordings of the group of demonstrators on TikTok and Twitter. a member of twitter wrote,

“They need to be gone permanently because anything else contributes to the reason why so many women and victims don’t speak up about sexual violence and rape because nobody will believe them, or listen, or do anything about it. Believe women, and ban Fiji.” 

The Lincoln Journal Star was able to obtain a video in which irate protesters can be heard chanting “F-k Fiji.” Also, a large number of people carried banners that read, “No means no,” “Even my dog knows when I say no,” “Hold rapists accountable,” and “20 to life.”

In actuality, Helm had previously been accused of sexual misconduct. The Nebraska native was accused of harassing another lady in 2017. Similar to this, the Fiji fraternity allegedly chanted “No means yes” during a march for women’s rights and carried signs endorsing President Donald Trump.
