Yetunde and her lover were speaking in her SUV outside a trap home in the Los Angeles County suburbs on the night of September 14, 2003.

Price’s boyfriend admitted that he didn’t think Price had been hit at first, but that he afterwards noticed blood all over the place. After arriving at the hospital, she was confirmed dead due to a bullet wound to the head.

Robert E. Maxfield, an alleged gang member, shot Price with an assault weapon and fired 11 shots. He was condemned to 15 years in jail on April 6, 2006. He was released on parole on March 8, 2018, but was re-arrested for reportedly violating his parole.

Funeral of Yetunde Price

Yetunde was secretly buried in Hollywood Hills on September 19, 2003. She was shot and killed five days later, and her body was laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery. At the funeral, Price’s siblings, including his daughters Venus and Serena, were among the mourners.
