Yoel Romero is a Cuban mixed martial artist who competes in the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s middleweight division. He previously competed in the Light Heavyweight division from 2009 to 2011. In his MMA career, he has a record of 13 wins and four defeats.He is a professional wrestler who won a silver medal at the 2000 Olympic Games. He also has five World Championship medals (one gold, two silver, and two bronze) and six World Championship medals in Wrestling (three golds, two silvers, and one bronze). On April 20, 2013, he made his UFC debut against Clifford Starks, winning by Technical Knockout and earning the performance of the night award. Prior to joining the UFC, he was a member of Strikeforce since 2011. He has been Knockout of the Night once, Performance of the Night twice, and Fight of the Night five times in the UFC. His earnings have increased as a result of these awards.
