Professional Career of Zab Judah

On September 20, 1996, he made his professional debut against Michael Johnson. He was 18 at the time. In the second round, he defeated Johnson by technical knockout.

Also in May 1999, his bout with Esteban Flores was called a no contest after he accidently butted heads with Flores, and the fight was stopped in the third round.

In 1998, he won the USBA Light Welterweight title by unanimous decision over Micky Ward.

And in January 1999, he won the Interim IBF Light Welterweight title by defeating Wilfredo Negron.

In February 2000, he won the vacant IBF Light Welterweight title by defeating Jan Piet Bergman.

Junior Witter, Terron Millett, Hector Quiroz, Reggie Green, and Allan Vester were his opponents for the IBF Light Welterweight title defense.

In November 2001, Judah lost his first professional fight to Tsyzu for the Undisputed Light Welterweight Championship. He was defeated by a technical knockout.

After losing to Tsyzu, the Nevada State Athletic Commission fined him $75,000 and suspended him for six months for his misbehavior.

In July 2003, he won the WBO Light Welterweight title by a split decision over DeMarcus Corley.

In April 2007, he returned from suspension to face Ruben Galvan. After a nasty cut at the top of Galvan’s head, the fight was ruled a no contest.
